I am is a music educator focused in music cognition and community program music curriculum development. I have been fortunate to seek degrees in Music Education from Duquesne University, Eastman School of Music, and University of Miami.
Raised in a family of highly skilled musicians and educators, I developed a passion for music performance within American Vernacular and classical music and interested in designing curriculum to promote musical development.
I have over 20 years teaching experience with students of all ages and currently serve as an Assistant Professor and Music Education Coordinator at Augusta University in Augusta, GA. I also facilitate the community music programs the Sand Hills String Band and Creative Strings and lead workshops and clinics on music creativity, curriculum development, and education technology.
My research interests are in applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Music Education setting, instrumental methods development, community music engagement, and teacher training. I have published articles in state and national music education journals and have presented my research at national and international conferences and symposia.
